SCCA Homologation () SCCA Homologation To enable a manufacturer (in this case, Yenko Sportscars, Inc.) to compete in the SCCA, 100 cars must have been built and submitted for approval. Before completing this process, the manufacturer must submit specifications for his car and have them approved. This process is referred to as “homologation”. Don submitted the required forms on October 11, 1965. His cars were ordered from Chevrolet and delivered the 2nd week of December 1965 and modified for SCCA inspection. January 7, 1966 a letter was written to Don from James Patterson noting the Stinger was approved for the 1966 season. That covered SCCA racing. Ten days later a letter was written to Don from G. William Fleming noting that the Stinger was approved for ACCUSA FIA racing. This allowed the Stinger to compete in international racing, including Daytona & Sebring. ![]() |
